Let’s be honest. The tech world is divided into two camps:
🎓 Those who believe a CS degree is the ultimate badge of a “real developer.”
🛠️ And those who learned by building projects, shipping code, and teaching themselves.
But here’s a thing. A degree gives you structure, theory, and credibility. But being self-taught gives you adaptability, real-world grit, and speed. I’ve seen degree holders stuck when the project leaves the textbook. I’ve also seen self-taught devs lost when the problem gets deep into fundamentals.
So here’s my thought.
– Neither the degree nor the “self-taught” tag makes you a real developer. Projects do. Execution does. Solving problems does. The world doesn’t care about your route. It cares about what you can build.
